Lawmakers to Study Increasing Turnpike Speed Limit

Posted: Updated:

A state legislator is looking into raising the speed limit on the Turner Turnpike to 80 mph.

Republican State Senator Rob Standridge has requested an interim study on the possibility of raising the speed limit on the highway between Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

The study doesn't guarantee any legislation will be introduced on the matter.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority opposes the idea.
