"Relief on the River" to Aid Local Musicians

Posted: Updated:

A benefit concert will be held this afternoon intended to support local musicians through the Red Dirt Relief Fund.

Proceeds from "Relief on the River" will go towards the fund, which aids local musicians who are in need.

The free concert will begin at 3 p.m at Elwoods on River, located at 1924 Riverside Drive, and will feature Chad Sullins & the Last Call Coalition, along with Brandon Clark, Wink Burcham and other homegrown musicians.

40-year-old Sullins tore an aorta before a show in May, and is facing medical bills and a long road to recovery.

"I was a big supporter of the Red Dirt Relief Fund before, but I thought I'd be the last person who would ever need it. I'm extremely grateful for the support of friends and fans through my situation, and hope we can raise some money for the next guy who needs it," said Sullins.
