Customers Spook Suspect in QT Attempted Armed Robbery

Posted: Updated:

Tulsa police say a couple of Good Samaritan customers spooked off an attempted armed robbery suspect late Sunday night at QuikTrip.

The suspect reportedly walked into the QT located at 215 North Garnett at 11 p.m., implied he had a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. That's when customers in the store made some unspecified comments to the suspect, which apparently spooked him and caused him to flee the store empty-handed.

A TPD K-9 tracked the suspect to a nearby apartment complex, but the amount of foot traffic in the area caused the K-9 to be unable to determine exactly where the suspect went.

The suspect was described as a 5'7" and 140 pound black male with a gray t-shirt on his body and a black t-shirt covering his face.
