Posted: Updated:

Residents of a Tulsa neighborhood attended a meeting Thursday morning to hear about new developments in the area.

Members of the Southwest Tulsa Chamber of Commerce hosted the meeting at Ollie's Station Restaurant. Residents that attended heard from various officials about new businesses and initiatives coming to the neighborhood.

"I think we've taken positive steps in terms of this remodel and restoration of [Crystal City]," architect Keith Robertson said. "We're starting to see a revival of private ownership in west Tulsa again."Officials spoke to the room about the recent developments at the Crystal City Shopping Center. At this time 50 percent of the shopping center has been leased by various business.

Jeannie Cue with the Tulsa City Council told KTUL that Save-A-Lot is opening in September, along with Subway and a hair salon. She added that they are looking to add restaurants to the shopping center.

Renovations at Crystal City began earlier this year. Before, the shopping center had been vacant for about 20 years until a private purchase was made around two years ago.
