11 Weekend Earthquakes Reported in Oklahoma

The United States Geological Survey has reported 11 earthquakes in Oklahoma since Saturday.

The highest in magnitude was a 3.8, which rattled five miles northwest of Medford Sunday morning at approximately 1:18 a.m. The earthquake's depth was 3.1 miles. About 13 minutes after that earthquake, a magnitude 3.5 struck in the same area.

The other quakes, spanning from 2.0 to 3.4 in magnitude, were felt in the Enid, Stillwater, Guthrie and Perry areas.

Most recently, a magnitude 2.6 quake shook in Cherokee at 11:50 a.m. A 3.1 magnitude quake hit seven miles west of Medford at 11:35 a.m. Another magnitude 3.4 tremor was reported at 10:59 a.m. today six miles northwest of Medford. Two miles southeast of Perry at 8:43 a.m. at this morning, the USGS says a magnitude 3.0 quake shook the area.

The first reported quake of the weekend was a magnitude 3.4. The epicenter of the earthquake was also near Medford. It was felt Saturday shortly before 6 a.m.
