Golden Apple Hosts Teachers for Tomorrow Conference

The annual Teachers for Tomorrow Conference is designed to enrich and inspire educators who are currently working with students, those who are new to the teaching profession, as well as introduce and encourage young adults who are considering the teaching profession. Hosted by Golden Apple Fellows, Teachers of Distinction, and Teaching Scholars, the conference is geared toward high school juniors, seniors and their parents, along with college students who are in education programs, and teachers. Current teachers will earn six CPDU.

The conference topics will focus on 1) Assessment and evaluation 2) Innovation and creativity and 3) STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).

Date: Saturday, October 4, 2014

Time: 8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.    

Where: Oak Park and River Forest High School (Oak Park, IL), 201 N. Scoville Avenue

Who: Conference attendees include high school and college students, their parents, and current teachers (many in their first three years of teaching).

Keynote: Alan Mather, 2014 Stanley C. Golder Award Recipient, Principal, Lindblom Math and Science Academy

Cost (includes lunch): $50 per teacher and college student, $25 per high school student and parent
